One of America’s great sculptors, Alexander Calder, made jewelry using little more than wire, a hammer and pliers. This class will introduce students to some of the techniques he used. Through this fast paced class students will learn some of the basics of forging: directional forming, “flip” earrings, and the fibula, a one-piece of metal pin - the original safety pin.

Class is limited to two students. Instruction will be by the discuss, demo, do methodology.

Students will work in copper, brass wire, and sterling silver wire and french hooks for earrings.

Materials fee, $40.00 (paid directly to the instructor).
