Make Your Own Sunken Glass Bowl
Have you ever wondered what would happen if a glassblower inhaled? If so, this is the class for you.
Working with an experienced glass blower, students will learn "hands-on" how to apply different colors to molten glass, how to heat and shape the semi-molten form and inflate the glass into a round, ornament-like shape.
Except in this class, students will actually DEFLATE the ornament to create the "sunken" effect. The student will then help prepare the foot for the bowl before placing it in the annealer to cool overnight to room temperature. Your
This is an exciting class because it involves many of the craft skills and tools that glassblowers routinely use for creating fine art glass.
Please don't wear loose-fitting clothes for the "hands-on" exercise. Natural fiber (not synthetic) clothes are best and closed toe shoes are required.
Blow pipes will be sterilized between each use.
Age Limit- 14 years old, minimum.
