Welding 2- Put a Bird on It!
This welding class will be a beginner to intermediate MIG welding class. You will learn the basics of operating a gas metal arc welder as well as a plasma cutter. Using these skills we will create a metal bird suspended by rebar which one could put into their garden or yard.
safety notes:
Please come to class in safe attire. Wear only natural fibers (cotton preferred, NO synthetics). Wear a cotton shirt, pants, and close-toed shoes. If you have long hair, bring something to pull it back. This is necessary metal-shop attire for your own safety and the teacher reserves the right to refuse access to students dressed unsafely. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided, including earplugs, welding jackets, welding helmets, safety glasses, and gloves. Students will be exposed to metal shop conditions including loud noises, bright lights, and heat. Please note that working in a metal shop, and handling metal can cause dust and debris buildup on your clothes, I recommend wearing clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or damaged.
