Intro to Oil Painting with Kirk Denny
Oil painting can feel like a hard medium to break into. This course seeks to demystify the practice and to provide you with the tools and skills to move forward as an oil painter. Over the course of six weeks, we will cover brushwork, toning, value blocking, color theory, mediums, form, light, and other fundamental skills. Whether you are a true beginner or a seasoned oil painter, strengthening your understanding of the basics will always help you to be a better painter.
This class will meet once a week for six weeks. Each class will have 30-45 minutes of hands off instruction and up to 1.5 hours of hands on practice. I want to work with each participant individually and provide instruction on a person to person bases. This class has an 6 person capacity allowing me to provide ample individual instruction as needed.
