Metals 303, 2 Piece Spoon, 5 hours (2evening sessions in successive weeks or one daytime session). $250.00


The spoons one of man or woman’s oldest utensils. Over time it has been made from bone, stones wood, metal, plastic and many other materials. It’s scope is expansive. Metal spoons can be made from either a single piece or multiple pieces soldered or otherwise joined together. This class will deal with the later, the 2 piece spoon. The first session will deal with bowl and handle formation as well as mechanical joints. Students will make a silver spoon during the second session.


The class is limited to two students. Instruction will be by the “discuss, demo, do” approach. If the scheduled time is not convenient for you, please contact Jim ant jimcohenjudaica@gmail.com to discuss scheduling


Materials fee, $50.00 (paid directly to the instructor) includes copper for practice and sterling silver for making a 4-5” “silver spoon” as well as studio supplies
