Introduction to Welding and Metal fabrication techniques
Welding Fundamentals Course offered by design builder Ben Sheehy provides a comprehensive overview of the basic principles of welding. Participants will learn the basic science and practical application of the most commonly utilized welding processes along with other essential topics, including welding terminology, weld design, welding safety, electrical theory, the weldability of metals, and welding quality control.
This course takes place at Liberty Arts Pearl Street studio, participants should be prepared to spend the day in a warehouse setting and wear closed-toes shoes, long sleeved shirts and should prepare for a 5 hour workshop.
You will be supplied with the raw materials and instruction necessary to create your own steel work of art. Past students have made everything from small tables, chairs, benches, coat racks, hat racks, wall hangings, keyring holders, decorative shelves, picture frames, bowls, pot racks, garden sculpture, wine bottle trees, functional objects, totems, animals, fantasy creatures, insects, and small/medium/large abstract sculptures. Most students are able to complete their project during class and take it home the same day.
