Intro to Fabrication for Women and Queer Folk
In the US, men make up over 90% of the welding and fabricating workforce. This can create a tough environment for women and queer people to learn metalcraft. Join this inclusive class for those who identity as women, trans, or queer! This introductory class will cover the basics of MIG welding and simple fabrication methods to empower minority voices to learn valuable and fun DIY skills.
Teaching artist and metal fabricator Britt Clark (she/her) will guide you through constructing your own geometric, tiered plant display in this day-long workshop. All materials and equipment will be provided, just bring yourself, a long sleeve shirt, and the desire to learn a new skill! Scholarships available based on need!
