Intro and Intermediate Wheelthrowing (Pottery)
Intro and Intermediate Wheel throwing
All levels of clay experience welcomed!
Have you ever wanted to try making pottery? Has it been a while since you’ve thrown on the wheel and you want to refresh your throwing skills? This is for you!
6 wheel throwing classes!
Students will meet for 2.5 hrs, 6:30pm- 9pm, once a week for six weeks
Because of the small class size, max of 5 people, you will be able to progress at your own speed and instruction will be catered to your particular skill level. The class must have 2 people to run.
This class series will take you through the various stages of wheel throwing such as, wedging, centering and the actual shaping of a piece, trimming and glazing. The first 2 classes will be heavy in throwing instruction. Around the third or fourth class most students feel comfortable exploring the wheel with little instruction. The last 2 classes will focus on decoration and glazing.
25lbs of clay will be provided. 3 options of clay. Little loafers (a smooth white clay body) Brownstone (a semi smooth brown clay body) and Speckled Brownstone (a semi smooth brown clay body with speckles)
Be sure to wear old clothes or bring an apron and towel.
Basic beginner pottery tools can be purchased online or at craft stores. ($12-$15)
The class will be held at Liberty Arts. This is an artist collective warehouse environment. There may be loud noises and other artists present in their studio during the lesson.
If you have any questions about the class, or would like to see Liberty Arts before signing up ,or would like to create a custom date and time that works better for your schedule please email me.
