Introduction to Glassblowing

Learn the basics of glassblowing and build solid and blown objects.

Do you often admire a beautiful piece of glass and wonder “how did they make that”? This is your chance to get a ground-level understanding of glass’ amazing properties and how glass can be manipulated to create virtually any shape or form. It’s a great opportunity to “test the water” to see if glass blowing is for you.

In this two-session, 7-hour class, you will work with molten glass and the basic tools to shape it. The focus will be on solid objects in the first session. Students will make the jump in the second session to a blown object and will use this time to build basic glassblowing skills.

You will add color “frit” to jazz up the look and appeal of your pieces. You will also learn the annealing process to safely bring your piece(s) back to room temperature.

This class is two sessions of 3.5 hours each. May 1 and 3, 6-9:30pm. No experience necessary
