Introduction to Glassblowing
Learn the introductory basics of glassblowing and build a colored glass paperweight!
Do you often admire a beautiful piece of glass and wonder “how did they make that”? This is your chance to get a ground-level understanding of glass’ amazing properties and how glass can be manipulated to create virtually any shape or form. It’s a great opportunity to “test the water” to see if glass blowing is for you.
In this 4-hour class, you will work with molten glass and the basic tools to shape the glass to form a paperweight. You will add color “frit” to jazz up the look and appeal of your piece. You will also learn the annealing process to safely bring your piece to room temperature.
Dress- wear natural fiber clothes and no open-toe shoes.
This class is one session of 4 hours duration. No experience necessary. Your piece will be ready for pickup the day after your class.
